Tehran: Three individuals lost their lives following a US strike on Iran's Larak Island late Sunday, as reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency on Monday. The incident has heightened tensions in the region, with further retaliatory actions reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attack initially resulted in two fatalities and several injuries. The injured were transported to a medical facility where one succumbed to their injuries, raising the total number of casualties to three.

In response to the strike, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced early Monday that it launched ballistic missile attacks on the King Hussein and Azraq airbases in Jordan. Additionally, the IRGC targeted the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE using explosive drones. This operation was described as a direct retaliation for the US action on Larak Island, which was purportedly aimed at preventing the deployment of sea mines in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a major conduit for global oil shipments.
