Sydney: Australia hosted a vigil mourning the murder of more than 200 journalists in Gaza, an Australian journalist, David Milner, said on X. The vigil was hosted in front of Australia's ABC News Agency building in Sydney.

According to Anadolu Agency, at least 208 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, as reported by the government media office. The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in nearly 800 fatalities, injuring over 1,600 others, and disrupting a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.

David Milner described the scene outside the ABC building, where the vigil shared stories of the journalists' final moments, portraying them in a manner that an ABC broadcast could not. Milner observed that journalists leaving the ABC building attempted to avoid making eye contact, which he attributed to feelings of shame or internal conflict related to their perceived stance on the situation.

Since October 2023, over 50,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, and more than 113,700 injured in the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
