Nahariya: A barrage of rockets from Lebanon struck Israel’s northern city of Nahariya on Thursday evening, as escalation continues to rage across the region, Israeli media reported. Channel 12 said around 10 rockets were fired at the city, triggering air raid sirens in Nahariya and surrounding areas. The broadcaster noted that most of the projectiles fell into open areas, while air defenses attempted to intercept one of the rockets, and another hit an agricultural area near Nahariya. Israel’s ambulance service MDA confirmed that no injuries were reported in the attack.

According to Anadolu Agency, sirens sounded more than 27 times in northern Israel on Thursday. Hezbollah has been firing volleys of rockets toward Israel since Thursday morning in retaliation for deadly Israeli airstrikes that killed at least 303 people and injured over 1,100 others on Wednesday. The escalation has been intensifying despite the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. While Pakistani mediators and Tehran said the ceasefire includes Lebanon, Washington and Tel Aviv have denied that.

The situation has been further exacerbated by the expanded Israeli offensive on Lebanon since March 2, which has resulted in the deaths of 1,888 people and wounded 6,092 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
