Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for bolstered strategic ties with Malaysia during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The meeting, held in Beijing, emphasized the importance of enhancing mutual political trust to uphold the core interests of both nations. Xi highlighted the longstanding relationship between China and Malaysia, describing them as good neighbors and partners committed to joint development. According to Anadolu Agency, Xi expressed China's readiness to collaborate with Malaysia in building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. The discussion underscored the need to deepen cooperation in areas such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and new energy. Xi also referenced a recent state visit by Malaysian King Ibrahim Iskandar, noting that he and the king had reached a consensus on advancing high-level bilateral relations. In a related development, Italian President Sergio Mattarella arrived in Beijing on Thursday for a visit scheduled to last until November 12. State media reported that the visit aims to foster pragmatic cooperation between China and Italy in cultural and technological fields, as well as enhance people-to-people exchanges to strengthen bilateral relations.
