Geneva: Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, in a phone call on Wednesday, discussed the agenda for the upcoming bilateral talks in Switzerland. The Ukrainian leader shared details of the conversation, which was also attended by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated on US social media platform X that the discussions also included preparations for the next trilateral peace talks involving Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington, planned for early March. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of elevating the talks to the leaders' level, with President Trump supporting this approach as a means to address and resolve ongoing issues and ultimately end the conflict.

Zelenskyy expressed appreciation for the hard work of both Ukrainian and American teams, acknowledging their significant contributions to the negotiations. He highlighted the value of the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, noting its critical role during a challenging winter for Ukraine. The purchase of missiles for air defense systems from the U.S. has been essential in overcoming obstacles and safeguarding lives, according to Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian President also mentioned an upcoming meeting on Thursday between US envoys and Ukraine's chief negotiator Rustem Umerov. The discussions will cover the 'Prosperity Package' for Ukraine among other topics. Zelenskyy informed journalists that Umerov will be joined for the first time by Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev in these negotiations.
