Ankara: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that new US military aid is arriving in Ukraine on Saturday, expressing gratitude to US President Donald Trump for ongoing support and intelligence sharing. This announcement comes amid intensified international calls for a ceasefire in the region.
According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy made these remarks during a press conference in Kyiv following a significant summit of European leaders. He highlighted the importance of US aid and intelligence in protecting Ukraine's airspace. The summit, titled 'United Europe in Ukraine,' was attended by leaders from the UK, France, Germany, and Poland, and included participation from 30 other countries, the EU, and NATO representatives via video link.
Zelenskyy emphasized a united stance on achieving a ceasefire, describing it as a necessary step to give diplomacy a real chance. He stated, "The most important result is an absolutely clear united position on a ceasefire - complete, unconditional and for at least 30 days."
The Ukrainian president also underlined the significance of ongoing communication with Washington, noting a productive dialogue with Trump and his team. Following the summit, there was a joint discussion with President Trump, where they agreed on a common view and further actions.
The event marks a coordinated international effort to advance a diplomatic solution, with Zelenskyy stressing the importance of accountability for those refusing a ceasefire and the need for long-term security guarantees.
