Seminar on European cooperation in armaments in Larnaca

The "European Armaments Co-Operation (EAC) Course" seminar on european cooperation in armaments began on Monday in Larnaca and will conclude on Friday, November 10th. The seminar is organised by the Ministry of Defence's Academy of Security and Defence, the European Defence Agency (EDA), and the Ministry of Defence of Austria, under the auspices of the European College of Security and Defence. A Ministry of Defence press release said "the purpose of the seminar is to enhance the understanding and awareness of the participants regarding the practices and benefits of joint procurement of equipment systems and, more broadly, the common development of defence capabilities". The seminar is attended by 29 executives from national or international organisations related to the field of armaments from 12 countries which include Cyprus, Greece, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Slovakia. During the opening ceremony of the seminar, welcoming remarks were delivered by Dr. Panagiotis Hadjipavlides, Director of General Procurements and Development of Defence Capabilities at the Ministry of Defence, and Dorothea Auer, Austria's Ambassador to Cyprus. The event was attended by Ambassadors and accredited diplomats to the Republic of Cyprus.
