MALATYA: Turkish modular construction company Karmod has provided 10 ready-to-use sales kiosks to the Metropolitan Municipality of Malatya, located in eastern Trkiye. The initiative aims to assist in the distribution of bread in newly developed residential areas following the major Kahramanmaras earthquakes that impacted the southeastern region of the country in February of last year. According to Anadolu Agency, these kiosks are part of a broader strategy to improve access to affordable bread in the region. Municipal bread programs in Malatya are focused on offering cost-effective and sanitary food solutions to communities still recovering from the disaster. Karmod Cabin Sales Manager Enes Kizilbay emphasized the importance of these kiosks in ensuring efficient and hygienic bread distribution in affected areas. "Our modular kiosks, equipped with electrical systems and shelving, make it easier to establish new distribution points," Kizilbay stated. "They are widely used by municipalities to deliver affordab le, healthy bread in hygienic conditions." He further noted that these kiosks are adaptable and can also serve other food services, such as sandwich and kebab vendors. The kiosks are designed for swift deployment and can be operational on the day of delivery. Karmod manufactured and delivered the 10 kiosks for MEGSAS, the bread production subsidiary of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, within a week. "Our kiosks, made with fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP), are durable and easy to clean," Kizilbay said. "They come with shelves, counters, and shutter systems, fully equipped for immediate use. Once installed at designated locations, they began serving the community the same day."
