According to Anadolu Agency, Mao Ning, spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, recognized Carter as a "key promoter and decision-maker" in the landmark establishment of diplomatic relations in 1979. Mao emphasized Carter's significant contributions to the development of China-U.S. relations, highlighting his efforts in promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.
