Ankara: Trkiye's automotive production fell by 3% on a yearly basis to 105,397 units in January, the country's Automotive Manufacturers Association said on Monday. Car production, however, saw a slight increase, going up by 1% in the same month to 67,795 units, the association added. According to Anadolu Agency, the total vehicle market saw a decline, decreasing by 15% to 70,412 units. The automobile market also experienced a downturn, with a 13% decrease to 55,944 units. Despite the decrease in production and market size, there was an increase in exports. Year-on-year in January, total automotive exports increased by 4% in quantity, with automobile exports specifically rising by 7%. During this period, total automotive exports amounted to 78,191 units, while automobile exports reached 47,316 units. On a value basis, total automotive exports increased by 5% to $2.95 billion. Meanwhile, the value of automobile exports experienced a substantial increase of 15%, totaling $866 million.
