Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has directed the country's military to "intensify" its training regimen and prepare for "modern warfare." During his inspection at the Kang Kon Military Academy, Kim emphasized the need for military education to incorporate practical experiences and focus on developing reliable military personnel adept in modern combat scenarios.

According to Anadolu Agency, during his visit to the academy on Tuesday, Kim outlined "important tasks" for military education. He stressed the need for students to be trained as field-officer types who can secure victories by mastering advanced weapons and equipment. He also urged the cultivation of commanding abilities suited for modern warfare. Kim highlighted the necessity of instilling a "resolute revolutionary consciousness" prior to engaging in military education.

Kim pointed out shortcomings in the academy's current educational state, noting that its management and facilities do not align with the Workers' Party of Korea's ambitions for a modern and advanced military. He criticized the party committee of the People's Army and the guidance departments for not adequately fulfilling their duties, emphasizing that the current international situation demands the North Korean army to be fully prepared for war.

Last Tuesday, North Korea reiterated its commitment to strengthening its nuclear force, condemning calls for its "complete denuclearization" and asserting that its nuclear program serves the purpose of self-defense and the protection of national peace and sovereignty.
