Trump Announces Key Ambassador Nominees for Kuwait, Morocco, and Lebanon

Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Amer Ghalib as the US ambassador to Kuwait, Duke Buchan as the ambassador to Morocco, and Michel Issa as the ambassador to Lebanon.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump utilized his Truth Social account to announce these significant nominations. Amer Ghalib, currently serving as the mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, has been nominated for the ambassadorial position in Kuwait. Notably, Ghalib is recognized as the only Muslim mayor in the United States. Trump expressed confidence in Ghalib's abilities, citing his pivotal role in securing a victory in Michigan and expressing pride in his appointment.

Duke Buchan, previously the US ambassador to Spain, has been nominated for the ambassadorial role in Morocco. Trump highlighted Buchan's anticipated contributions to enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of peace, freedom, and prosperity. Trump extended his congratulations to Buchan and his family on this new appointment.

Additionally, Trump named Lynda Blanchard as the US ambassador to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), located in Rome. Blanchard previously served as the US ambassador to Slovenia during Trump's first term. Trump praised her past performance and expressed confidence in her future contributions to the nation in this role.

All these ambassadorial nominations await Senate confirmation before the nominees can officially take on their respective posts.
