Gaza City: At least 100 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 50,523, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement noted that 138 more injured individuals were transferred to hospitals in the last 24 hours, increasing the number of injuries in the Israeli onslaught to 114,776. The statement also highlighted the challenges faced by rescuers, as many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, making it difficult for rescue teams to reach them.

The Israeli army initiated a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in the deaths of 1,163 people and injuries to over 2,700 others, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that began in January.

In a related development, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
