Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Trkiye will continue its collaboration with Indonesia to support the reconstruction of Gaza and uphold the Palestinian cause. This statement was made during a joint news conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who was visiting Ankara.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized the ongoing cooperation between Trkiye and Indonesia across international platforms such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, G20, D-8, and MIKTA. He highlighted the significance of Prabowo's address to the Turkish parliament as a testament to the strong brotherhood between the two nations. The leaders discussed expanding their cooperation in several sectors, including defense, health, energy, and food, with specific emphasis on joint production projects in the defense industry.
Erdogan also expressed satisfaction with the growing number of Indonesian tourists visiting Trkiye, which reached 203,000 in 2024. On the economic front, the leaders reviewed strategies to increase bilateral trade to a target of 10 billion dollars, ensuring mutual benefit.
Commenting on the upcoming Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Erdogan noted the event's importance in showcasing Trkiye's influence in global diplomacy. President Subianto's attendance at the forum underlines the strengthening ties between the two countries as they work together on international issues and bilateral projects.
