Mandalay: A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Myanmar, as reported by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). There were no immediate reports of casualties or property damage following the tremor.

According to Anadolu Agency, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology recorded the quake's intensity at a slightly lower magnitude of 5.5. The epicenter was located approximately 14.5 kilometers northeast of Wundwin town in the Mandalay region, with the seismic activity occurring at a depth of 35 kilometers (21.7 miles).

Myanmar, a Southeast Asian nation, is still dealing with the aftermath of a significant 7.7 magnitude earthquake that devastated the central region on March 28. This earlier disaster affected an area home to 17 million people, resulting in 3,649 fatalities, 5,018 injuries, and 145 individuals still unaccounted for.

Since the March 28 quake, Myanmar has experienced about 89 aftershocks, as per the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
