Istanbul: Trkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot engaged in discussions on Monday regarding the planned peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. The talks are aimed at finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, the conversation between Fidan and Barrot took place over a phone call, where they reviewed the ongoing efforts to end the war. The peace talks are slated to occur in Istanbul, Trkiye. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has shown willingness to accept Moscow's proposal to resume negotiations.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin's support for restarting the peace process from its previous point in Istanbul. Erdogan reaffirmed Trkiye's dedication to facilitating peace efforts and bringing an end to the conflict.
