London: China and the US have agreed on a framework and implementation plan after two days of trade talks in the UK, China's top trade envoy Li Chenggang said late Tuesday. The discussions aimed to address ongoing trade tensions, with a focus on export restrictions and tariff disputes.

According to Anadolu Agency, the agreement follows a recent phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which Trump described as having a "very positive conclusion for both countries." The latest talks in London are building on a previous agreement reached on May 12 in Geneva, where both countries agreed to a 90-day suspension of most duties and to roll back measures imposed since early April.

Chinese envoy Li Chenggang highlighted the diligent and professional nature of the discussions, with both sides engaging in in-depth exchanges. He expressed optimism that the progress made would enhance trust and promote stable trade and economic relations between the two nations, contributing positively to global economic development.

The negotiations in London addressed key issues such as China's restrictions on rare earth exports to the US and Washington's limits on certain tech exports to China.
