Ankara: Iran will continue its nuclear enrichment activities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the deputy foreign minister said on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi stated that Iran will persist in its uranium enrichment efforts despite opposition from Israel and the US.

'No one can tell us what we should or should not do as long as we move within the framework of our obligations under the treaty,' Ravanchi expressed during an interview with Germany's national television Das Erste.

The situation escalated on Sunday when US President Donald Trump announced that American forces had bombed Iran's Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites. The US executed the attack using six bunker-buster bombs delivered by B-2 stealth bombers on the Fordo facility, coupled with numerous submarine-launched cruise missile strikes on the Natanz and Isfahan facilities.

The strikes represent the latest development in a US-backed Israeli military offensive against Iran that has been ongoing since June 13. In response, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks on Israel. Israeli authorities reported that at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured due to Iranian missile attacks.

In Iran, the Israeli assault has resulted in at least 430 deaths and more than 3,500 injuries, as reported by the Iranian Health Ministry.
