Khankendi: Israel's increasingly aggressive policies under its current administration are threatening the peace and stability of the region, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated during his address at the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Azerbaijan's city of Khankendi. "We can neither abandon the Palestinian cause nor remain silent as the Netanyahu government turns our region into a bloodbath," Erdogan emphasized.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, advocating for support in security, peace, and development for the Afghan people. The Turkish president urged the countries attending the ECO summit to foster stronger connections with Turkish Cypriots in fields such as sports, culture, economy, and tourism.

Erdogan further addressed the issue of clean energy, highlighting Turkey's National Energy Efficiency Action Plan for 2024-2030, which aims to reduce emissions by 100 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. He also mentioned the Zero Waste Project, noting that it has significantly contributed to combatting climate change by preventing approximately 6 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions since its inception.

The summit, themed "New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future," serves as a platform for regional leaders to discuss collaborative efforts towards sustainability and climate resilience.
