Gaza city: At least 68 people were killed and dozens injured in Israeli strikes Saturday against the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. The Shifa Palestine field hospital in Khan Younis reported receiving the bodies of four young brothers from the Abu Al-Khair family, alongside several injured individuals, following an Israeli attack on tents in the Al-Shaf'i area.
According to Anadolu Agency, eight Palestinians, including five children, were killed and 18 others injured in a strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, as confirmed by Al-Awda Hospital. In another incident, three people lost their lives, and several were injured when the Al-Sultan water desalination plant in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City was targeted.
Israeli fighter jets also struck a caf© in Al-Zawaida town, central Gaza, resulting in six casualties. In the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, seven people were killed, and many were injured in an attack on a school-turned-shelter, as reported by a medical source. The same neighborhood witnessed the targeting of a Palestinian family home, which led to four additional deaths.
Further strikes in Gaza City and Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza claimed the lives of eight people, including a woman. Another school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood was hit, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including two children.
In the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, two people died following an Israeli army strike near a mosque. A medical source reported the deaths of two siblings and several injuries in an Israeli drone attack on a residential building in the al-Bureij refugee camp.
A home in the Maghazi refugee camp was also targeted, leading to the deaths of two Palestinians. In Al-Mawasi, western Khan Younis, a Palestinian doctor and his four sons were killed in a drone attack on a tent sheltering displaced people. Additionally, a Palestinian man and his only son died in a strike on a tent in the same area.
A woman was killed when the Israeli army opened fire on tents of displaced civilians in western Khan Younis. Eleven more people, including three children, were killed, and others were injured when the Israeli army fired on civilians waiting for aid near a distribution point in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.
Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army continues its military actions in Gaza, which have resulted in over 57,300 Palestinian deaths, predominantly women and children, since October 2023. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
