Kuala lumpur: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has made a direct appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to leverage his influence to bring an "immediate" cessation to the ongoing violence in Gaza. Anwar's plea highlights the urgent need for global action to halt the Israeli military actions described as brutalities.

According to Anadolu Agency, Anwar expressed his concerns on X, emphasizing the severity of the humanitarian crisis. He called upon influential figures, specifically President Trump, to act decisively, stressing the importance of stopping the indiscriminate bombings and ensuring unobstructed humanitarian aid to those in dire need.

Anwar described the situation in Gaza as a test of "shared humanity," lamenting the loss of entire families and the deaths of children and infants. He criticized the actions as a blatant violation of moral principles, urging all world leaders to respond with urgency and a unified voice.

The Malaysian leader reiterated his country's readiness to collaborate with nations globally to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and uphold humanitarian values. He urged the international community not to remain passive but to act with compassion and strive for peace.

The conflict has resulted in over 59,000 Palestinian deaths, predominantly affecting women and children. The casualties include those who succumbed to malnutrition and others killed during aid distribution. The ongoing violence has led to significant international legal actions, including arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli leaders for alleged war crimes.

Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the Gaza Strip.
