Tel aviv: Israel's military announced on Tuesday that it successfully intercepted a missile reportedly launched from Yemen. The interception led to the activation of air-raid sirens across various regions in the country, although no casualties or material damage were reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Houthi spokesperson, Yahya Saree, confirmed the missile attack. Saree asserted that the attack 'successfully achieved its goal,' targeting Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and causing a temporary halt in airport operations. This missile launch comes on the heels of drone attacks carried out by the Houthis on Israeli targets the previous day.

The increase in hostilities follows Israeli airstrikes on western Al-Hudaydah Port, which the Israeli army claims were aimed at dismantling the Houthi military infrastructure. The Houthis have stepped up their missile and drone strikes against Israel since the resumption of Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip in March, marking an end to a brief ceasefire.

Since November 2023, the Houthis have also targeted commercial vessels in strategic waterways such as the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea. These actions are framed as support for Palestinians in Gaza, who have suffered significant casualties, with over 59,000 reported killed due to the ongoing Israeli military campaign.
