Ankara: Turkish parliament speaker Numan Kurtulmus commemorated the 80th anniversary of the dropping of a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, on Wednesday, stating that those killed in Hiroshima were not only Japanese but all of humanity.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kurtulmus expressed his sentiments on the social media platform X, highlighting the global impact of the Hiroshima disaster. He stated, "On the anniversary of the Hiroshima disaster, a dark stain in history, I share the pain of the lost and destroyed lives with all my heart. We know and believe that those killed in Hiroshima were not only Japanese but all of humanity."

Kurtulmus drew parallels between the tragic events of Hiroshima and the ongoing situation in Gaza, describing it as a human tragedy. He criticized what he referred to as the "Zionist regime of Israel," led by Netanyahu, for perpetrating acts akin to those witnessed in Hiroshima. "In Gaza, innocent civilians, children, and women are losing their lives every day in the grip of ruthless brutality," Kurtulmus remarked.

He emphasized the importance of remembering historical tragedies, stating, "History has not forgotten Hiroshima, and it will not forget Gaza either. As witnesses of the moment, we have not forgotten any massacre, and we will not forget."
