Ankara: Hungary is ready to host peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine at any time, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated Thursday. Szijjarto emphasized that Budapest is prepared to provide 'fair and safe conditions' for dialogue aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, as reported by Hungary's Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

According to Anadolu Agency, Szijjarto expressed Hungary's willingness to contribute to peace efforts by offering an appropriate venue for negotiations. He recalled that Hungary made this offer shortly after the conflict began, highlighting his communication with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, just three days after the war's outbreak. Szijjarto conveyed Hungary's desire for peace and a swift resolution to the war.

Szijjarto reiterated that Hungary's invitation remains open. He confirmed that Hungary is prepared to host peace talks at any time, promising to ensure fair, decent, safe, and equal conditions for discussions. He noted that both parties had expressed gratitude for Hungary's offer and reaffirmed that the invitation would stand as long as necessary.
