Surrey: About 200 anti-immigration demonstrators clashed with Stand Up to Racism activists on Saturday in Surrey county in southeastern England, UK, PA Media reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, tensions escalated before the two groups clashed, with anti-racism protesters being heckled by residents of Horley as they marched through the town. The confrontation took place on Bonehurst Road near the Four Points by Sheraton hotel, which is currently housing asylum seekers, and was kept from escalating further by police lines.

Police faced challenges in maintaining separation between the groups while trying to guide the Stand Up to Racism protesters through the anti-migrant crowd. The anti-racism demonstrators voiced support for refugees, carried signs promoting unity, and urged 'racist scum' to leave the area.

The anti-racism group was met with verbal hostility from the anti-migration faction, including an individual using a megaphone to accuse them of being 'scum' and asserting that the rally was not about racism. Additionally, the anti-immigration protesters sang songs in support of far-right activist Tommy Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.
