Trump Confirms Attendance at Hegseth’s Meeting with Senior Military Officials

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday his intention to attend a significant meeting organized by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, which will convene hundreds of senior military officers near Washington, DC, on Tuesday. This gathering is expected to include top US Army generals and Navy admirals at a Marine Corps base in Virginia.

According to Anadolu Agency, this meeting, which Hegseth ordered without providing a specific reason, has drawn attention due to its scale and the high ranks of the attendees. The directive was sent to nearly all senior commanders worldwide, suggesting the importance of the discussions. The state of Virginia, located just south of Washington, DC, is also the location of the Pentagon, adding strategic significance to the meeting's venue.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed on Thursday that Hegseth would address the senior military leaders early next week but did not offer further details. Sources indicated that Hegseth's order applies to senior officers at the rank of brigadier general and above, including their naval equivalents, those in command positions, and top advisors. The meeting aims to focus on military achievements and strategies, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the nation's top military personnel.
