Turkish Activists Aboard Global Sumud Flotilla Determined to Break Gaza Blockade

Istanbul: Turkish activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, which is heading towards Gaza to break the Israeli blockade and deliver humanitarian aid, said they are determined to overcome all obstacles and break the blockade imposed on Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish activist Muhammed Fatih Sinan, aboard the Adagio ship that joined the fleet from Tunisia, emphasized their determination to overcome the difficulties and break the blockade in Gaza. He noted that they had experienced technical problems on the ship from time to time, including an incident where their batteries ran out.

Sinan highlighted the importance of being part of the mission to break the blockade imposed on Gaza. He stated, "I see no difference between being in Istanbul, in Uskudar Square, Sarachane Square in Istanbul, in Ankara, Trabzon, Antalya, Bursa, Barcelona, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and being on these ships."

He also mentioned that if they reach Gaza, he will donate all the aid materials he is carrying, including most of his personal clothing, to the people there.

Turkish activist Yunus Demir expressed that everyone on the flotilla was 'very excited and had very mixed feelings.' He added that they were sailing towards Gaza in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, describing it as a dream-like experience.

Demir emphasized their goal to break the blockade and reach Gaza, hoping for a reunion with their brothers there. He remarked on the difficult times faced by the people of Gaza, which have been ongoing since the blockade began in the early 2000s.

He stated, "If we can touch their lives, at least make their work easier, at least deliver aid, it will be a great joy for us." Demir added that breaking the blockade would be a lifelong source of pride and joy for him personally.

Demir also noted that the ships in the fleet were approaching Gaza and entering the 'red zone,' where an Israeli intervention could occur at any moment. However, he emphasized that they are prepared for any scenario and not afraid, as they embarked on this mission as the conscience of humanity.

"We want to reach our brothers and sisters in Gaza and bring them aid as a completely peaceful action," Demir said. He stressed that with such pure intentions, they are prepared for anything Israel might do and are not afraid of any challenges. "We will continue on our way, God willing," he concluded.
