Turkish Stock Index Rises as Trading Week Progresses

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index began its midweek trading session on a positive note, opening at 10,512.42 points, marking an increase of 0.43% or 45.23 points.

According to Anadolu Agency, the previous day saw the BIST 100 index close at 10,467.20 points, experiencing a slight decline of 0.16%. The trading volume for the day was reported at 120.8 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.87 billion.

As of 10:20 am local time (0720 GMT), exchange rates were recorded with the Turkish lira trading at 41.9760 against the US dollar, 48.7560 against the euro, and 55.9790 against the British pound. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,140.6, while Brent crude oil was valued at $62 per barrel.
