Tel aviv: The Israeli Defense Ministry announced Monday that it has treated nearly 22,000 wounded soldiers since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023. These soldiers have been incorporated into the Rehabilitation Department's treatment program, with almost 58% experiencing mental health conditions, as stated by the ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry highlighted that nearly 1,500 new treatment requests are submitted by wounded soldiers each month. The Rehabilitation Department is currently providing care for 82,400 wounded veterans, including those injured in previous conflicts. It was noted that 26% of all patients in the department were wounded within the past two years.

Additionally, Israeli military data published in October revealed 279 suicide attempts among personnel over 18 months, resulting in 36 deaths. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with Israel having reportedly killed over 70,000 people, primarily women and children, and injured more than 171,000 others in Gaza since October 2023. Israel has also carried out air assaults against Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Syria during this period.
