Ankara: Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat is set to embark on a crucial visit to Washington, aiming to conduct high-level discussions to achieve a significant milestone in the economic relations between Trkiye and the US. Bolat's mission involves advancing towards the ambitious $100 billion bilateral trade volume target, as revealed by sources to Anadolu.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bolat's itinerary includes meetings with key figures such as Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Additionally, he will engage with representatives from US Chamber of Commerce member companies. The primary objective of these discussions is to take definitive steps towards the trade volume target, which has been set by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The talks are expected to cover an evaluation of the current strategic roadmap, focusing on enhancing cooperation potential in sectors such as energy, investments, the defense industry, and advanced technologies. Furthermore, new opportunities for collaboration will be explored. A significant part of the agenda will be dedicated to discussing the effective use and further development of existing frameworks like the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between Trkiye and the US.
