Kupyansk: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that achieving results on the battlefield is essential for Ukraine to make progress in diplomacy. According to Ukrinform news agency, Zelenskyy highlighted this during a visit to Kupyansk city, where he met Ukrainian soldiers operating near the area and expressed gratitude for their efforts against Russian forces.
According to Anadolu Agency, In a message shared on Telegram, Zelenskyy emphasized the connection between military strength and diplomatic discussions, asserting that strong positions on the front lead to strong positions in talks about ending the war. He acknowledged the contributions of the soldiers in Kupyansk, thanking every unit involved in the fighting.
Meanwhile, Units of Ukraine's National Guard claimed significant advances in the Kupyansk direction. The units reported capturing the villages of Kindrashivka and Radkivka, along with several neighborhoods in northern Kupyansk. These advances reportedly cut Russian supply routes, aiding in stabilizing the situation in the area. In a Facebook statement, the command detailed that these developments blocked key logistics lines to the city and placed Kupyansk under Ukrainian fire control, while battles continue to the south.
The Russian side has not responded to these claims, and independent verification remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict. Kupyansk, located in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, remains a critical frontline area amidst the continued fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces.
