Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged efforts to 'uphold global peace and the rule of law' during a New Year reception hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Nearly 500 guests attended the event, including diplomatic envoys from various countries, representatives of international organizations in China, and representatives of Chinese government departments.
According to Anadolu Agency, Wang Yi highlighted China's steadfast position in maintaining international fairness and justice, emphasizing its commitment to building a community with a shared future for humanity. He noted that despite challenges in international relations, Beijing has remained committed to its diplomatic path over the past year.
Wang Yi also pointed out that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, underscoring China's readiness to collaborate with global forces for progress. He emphasized the importance of promoting openness and development, tackling crises and challenges, and deepening understanding and friendship worldwide.
