US Annual Inflation Steady at 2.4% in February


Washington: The annual inflation rate in the US was recorded at 2.4% in February, aligning with market estimates and showing no change from the previous month, as reported by official data released on Wednesday.



According to Anadolu Agency, the monthly inflation rate increased to 0.3% from January’s 0.2%, meeting expectations. Food prices saw a yearly rise of 3.1%, while energy prices went up by 0.5%.



Core inflation, which removes the impact of volatile food and energy prices, showed an increase of 2.5% over the past 12 months.



In comparison to January, February saw shelter prices increase by 0.2%, food prices by 0.4%, and energy prices by 0.5%. The consumer price index had been at 2.7% in both December and November, and at 3% in September.
