Washington: US President Donald Trump is regularly presented with options to end the Iran war but has so far declined to act on any of them, NBC News reported, citing people familiar with the plans. Exit strategies are offered daily alongside escalation options as part of standard war planning.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump's advisers remain divided, with some pushing for an exit strategy due to concerns over global economic instability, while others view the conflict as a chance to permanently reduce Iran's influence in the region. The timeline for ending the war "could change every day," one source told NBC.

While US officials initially projected the campaign would last four to six weeks, Trump has consistently stated that the campaign is "ahead of schedule." However, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth remarked last week that it is "only just the beginning," highlighting the internal uncertainty regarding the conflict's duration.

The US-Israeli strikes on Iran commenced on February 28 and have reportedly resulted in more than 1,200 deaths, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Additionally, fourteen US service members have lost their lives since the campaign began.
