Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates announced on Thursday that its air defense systems are actively intercepting missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. The UAE Defense Ministry confirmed these defensive actions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE Defense Ministry shared on the US social media platform X that their air defense systems are currently engaged in intercepting these threats. The ministry's statement clarified that the sounds heard across various regions of the country were a result of air defense activities, including the interception of ballistic missiles and the deployment of fighter jets to counter UAVs and other aerial threats.

The UAE Defense Ministry reiterated its commitment to employing air defense systems to thwart missile and UAV attacks originating from Iran. The ministry emphasized its ongoing efforts to protect the nation from these airborne threats.
