Ankara: A strike on a suspected drug-trafficking vessel in the Caribbean has resulted in the deaths of four individuals.

According to Anadolu Agency, the command reported that intelligence identified the vessel as operating along known narco-trafficking routes and actively engaged in drug operations. The statement regarding the operation was posted on the US social media platform X.

The decision to strike was made by SOUTHCOM commander Francis L. Donovan, with the operation being executed by Joint Task Force Southern Spear. The vessel was described as being operated by 'designated terrorist organizations.'

'Four male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed,' stated the command.

This operation is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration, which has increased military activity in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean since September to combat narcotics trafficking. Authorities have reported that at least 163 people have been killed since these operations commenced.
