Tehran: The Karish and Tanin natural gas fields, located off Israel's Eastern Mediterranean shores, are considered potential targets for Iranian strikes if US President Donald Trump's threats to decimate Iranian infrastructure materialize.
According to Anadolu Agency, a document circulated by Iran's state-run Press TV outlined four points, including references to the Karish and Tanin gas fields as potential targets. The other points in the document were unclear due to blurring.
Additionally, Aramco facilities and Yanbu oil installations in Saudi Arabia, as well as the Fujairah pipeline in the United Arab Emirates, could join Iran's list of targets if tensions escalate further, as stated by an informed Iranian military source to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.
President Trump has set a deadline for 8 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday (0000GMT Wednesday), threatening to destroy every bridge and power plant in Iran unless Tehran reopens the Strait of Hormuz and agrees to a deal.
Regional tensions have intensified since the US and Israel launched an offensive against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran has conducted drone and missile strikes on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries housing US military assets, resulting in casualties and infrastructure damage, while also affecting global markets and aviation.
