Beirut: Hezbollah announced early Thursday that it launched rockets toward northern Israel in retaliation for recent assaults on Lebanon. The group stated that its target was the Israeli settlement of Manara, responding to what it described as Israel’s breach of a ceasefire agreement. Hezbollah declared that it will maintain its retaliation “until the US-Israeli aggression against our country and our people stops.”

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a missile was intercepted over the Upper Galilee after being fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel, following a nine-hour period of calm. The newspaper also noted that air raid sirens were activated in the Galilee Panhandle after the missile launch.

These incidents unfolded a day after the United States and Iran declared a ceasefire agreement, intended to facilitate a final resolution to a conflict initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on February 28. Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military conducted extensive airstrikes across Lebanon on Wednesday, resulting in at least 254 fatalities and 1,165 injuries, as reported by the Lebanese Civil Defense.

While Iranian and Pakistani representatives indicated that the ceasefire agreement encompassed Lebanon, Israeli officials maintained that Lebanon was excluded from the arrangement.
