According to Anadolu Agency, Meloni highlighted Italy's enthusiasm for developing joint production, especially in the drone sector, where Ukraine has emerged as a prominent player in recent years. This initiative was discussed during a news conference held in Rome, with both leaders present. Meloni and Zelenskyy explored ways to enhance defense cooperation between the two nations.

Zelenskyy provided Meloni with updates on the ongoing situation in Ukraine, particularly concerning the presence of Iranian Shahed drones in Ukrainian airspace. He emphasized the urgency for additional anti-aircraft systems to counter these attacks.
