Trump Asserts Saudi Arabia Could Not Block US Military Use of Airports

Evian: US President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia would not have been capable of preventing the United States from utilizing its airports for military operations against Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump made this statement during a news conference at the G7 summit held in Evian, France. He discussed conversations he had with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict and the newly established memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Trump emphasized the strong relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia, noting, "I spoke to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia a number of times. They're all so happy that they're still ... you have to have them happy too, you know?" He further asserted the US's autonomy in military operations by stating, "We're using their airports, not that they could stop us if we didn't want them to."
