Ankara: Iran does not respond to "vulgarity with vulgarity, but with action," Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Wednesday. "Addressing the Civilized and Courageous Nation of Iran with derogatory language does not diminish its Greatness," Araghchi wrote on the US social media platform X, emphasizing that Iranians are known for their "civility" and "strong moral values." Araghchi further asserted, "We do not answer vulgarity with vulgarity, but with action: fearlessly and with great valor."
According to Anadolu Agency, the statement from Iran's Foreign Minister followed comments made by US President Donald Trump earlier in the day. Trump had announced that Washington would "probably" launch another attack on Iran on Wednesday night, following US strikes in retaliation for attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. "We hit them very hard last night, very, very. Probably hit them hard again tonight," Trump remarked during the NATO summit in Ankara. He added, "I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum."
The tensions between the US and Iran have been escalating following a series of confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway crucial for global oil shipments. The latest statements from both nations indicate a continuation of heated rhetoric and potential for further conflict.
