Ankara: The deployment of additional US aerial refueling aircraft at Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport could lead to the cancellation of approximately 5,000 airline tickets daily, reported Israel's Channel 12. The broadcaster provided insights into emergency planning discussions at the airport, where officials expressed concerns over the operational and financial ramifications due to the allocation of extra parking space for US military refueling aircraft.

According to Anadolu Agency, the developments come as the United States bolsters its military presence in the region, amid rising tensions with Iran. On Sunday, Israel's public broadcaster KAN revealed that the US had notified Israel about a plan to intensify attacks on Iran in the forthcoming days. Furthermore, KAN highlighted that the US had recently delivered additional military equipment and munitions to Israel to support US warplanes, with more than 10 US refueling aircraft arriving from Europe and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

In a related report, the Walla news website, referencing an unnamed Israeli Air Force source, indicated that the US military is considering the deployment of around 100 refueling aircraft at Israeli military bases and Ramon Airport in southern Israel, contingent upon the expansion of its operations against Iran. The source disclosed that 14 additional US refueling aircraft had already reached Israel over the weekend.

The US has heightened its attacks against Iran in recent days, prompting retaliatory strikes from Iran targeting facilities and bases it claims are utilized by the US military across several regional countries. This exchange of hostilities follows a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June by the US and Iran, aiming to end their conflict and establish a lasting peace agreement.
