Voronezh: At least seven people were killed and 21 others injured in overnight Russian and Ukrainian strikes, according to officials from both countries.
According to Anadolu Agency, Voronezh Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported on the Russian social media platform Max that a drone crash resulted in one fatality and two injuries, causing fires at two warehouses in the Novousmansky district. The fires affected facilities operated by Wildberries, Russia's largest online marketplace, covering 16,000 and 20,000 square meters, respectively. The incident also damaged three trucks and a car.
Wildberries confirmed on Telegram that its logistics facilities in the Voronezh region were evacuated for safety. The company later announced that the fire had been extinguished and that goods were largely undamaged, though deliveries have been temporarily redirected.
In a separate incident, debris from an intercepted Ukrainian drone ignited a fire at an industrial facility in Russia's Orenburg region, with no casualties reported, according to Governor Yevgeny Solntsev. Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its forces shot down 396 Ukrainian drones across the country and Crimea and targeted a Nova Poshta terminal and a logistics center in Kyiv, as well as a steel plant in Zaporizhzhia.
Meanwhile, a "massive" Russian attack involving missiles and guided bombs on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia resulted in six deaths and 19 injuries, as stated by regional Governor Ivan Fedorov on Telegram. The attack damaged multiple apartment and nonresidential buildings. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using North Korean ballistic missiles and other advanced weaponry in the attack.
In Kyiv, a missile strike damaged an infectious disease hospital and businesses, while power outages occurred in Kherson and Kharkiv due to substation attacks. The Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions were also targeted. Zelenskyy reported the use of more than 120 drones, mainly Iranian-designed Shaheds, against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia's actions, including increased ballistic missile production and mobilization efforts, indicate preparation for escalation rather than peace, urging a global response. Independent verification of claims from either side remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
Ukraine has intensified drone strikes on Wildberries logistics facilities since mid-July, targeting more than 15 centers across various Russian regions and Crimea. Kyiv accuses the retailer of aiding Moscow's military supply chain, a claim denied by both Moscow and Wildberries.
