Lhoumois: A fire killed three people at a holiday rental and agricultural shed in the western French department of Deux-Sevres, broadcaster BFMTV reported Wednesday. The gendarmerie informed the broadcaster that the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday in the municipality of Lhoumois.

According to Anadolu Agency, the fire rapidly spread across approximately 20 hectares (49 acres) before reaching the buildings in Lhoumois. The blaze originated near a local road that connects the village to an adjacent area and quickly engulfed hedges, grasslands, a hay shed, and a rental house.

Emergency services found the bodies of two individuals inside the holiday rental, while a third victim was discovered later. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
