Beirut: At least 19 people were killed and 24 others injured in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the total death toll from the Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 4,381, with 12,402 injured as of Monday, the ministry stated. The latest casualties have increased the overall toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, to 8,948 killed and 30,638 injured.

Despite an agreement brokered by the US and signed in June, Israel continues to launch airstrikes across southern Lebanon. The agreement outlines a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army in those areas.

Israel maintains its occupation of areas in southern Lebanon, with some territories held for decades and others seized during the 2023-2024 war. It has further expanded the territory under its occupation amid its ongoing offensive.
