Ankara:Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid tribute to Azerbaijani soldiers who died in the fight to reclaim Karabakh, as part of Azerbaijan's Remembrance Day commemorations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan expressed his respect for the Azerbaijani veterans and martyrs, stating their efforts were to free Karabakh from occupation. His remarks were shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

Erdogan also reinforced his stance on the territorial status of Karabakh, affirming it as Azerbaijani land indefinitely.

Karabakh, while internationally recognized as Azerbaijani territory, has been the focal point of a prolonged conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia since the Soviet Union's collapse. Azerbaijan resumed full control over the region in 2023 following a military campaign.
