Taiz:Yemen: The Yemeni army announced it has killed at least 700 Houthi fighters in a series of 257 operations conducted across multiple fronts in the country.
According to Anadolu Agency, military spokesman Col. Majed al-Nuzaili stated that government forces employed warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers to carry out these operations. The strategic efforts primarily focused on the Taiz fronts, as well as areas in Sanaa, Midi, Baqim, Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, and Lahj.
The operations targeted command and control centers, troop concentrations, combat buildups, reserves, weapons and ammunition depots, and military supply routes. Preliminary battlefield estimates suggest these efforts "neutralized at least 700" Houthi fighters and destroyed 170 combat vehicles and other assets.
Col. Majed al-Nuzaili noted that these losses have significantly impacted the Houthis' combat capabilities, limiting their ability to continue assaults against civilian areas.
There has been no immediate response from the Houthis regarding these claims. Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis seized control of Sanaa and other provinces in 2014, leading to a Saudi-led coalition's intervention in 2015. After the collapse of a truce in July 2022, fighting has intensified.
