Iran’s Foreign Minister Calls for Diplomatic Resolution in US-Iran Conflict

Tehran:Iran's foreign minister has declared that the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran cannot be resolved through military means or increased sanctions. This statement was made during a speech to foreign ambassadors in Tehran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that a solution grounded in negotiations, justice, and diplomatic dignity is necessary for a final resolution. He criticized the current approach, labeling it as unlawful aggression against Iran.

Araghchi warned that if the US resorts to military action, Iran is prepared to take all necessary measures to defend itself with increased force. The conflict, which began on February 28 with a US and Israeli offensive, has seen Iran respond with missile and drone attacks across the region. Additionally, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for energy supplies, leading to a US naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Efforts to end the conflict have been ongoing, with a framework deal established on June 18 aimed at paving the way for a final peace agreement. This agreement seeks to address navigation through the strategic waterway and issues related to Iran's nuclear program.
