Zelenskyy and Tusk Discuss Winter Energy Preparations for Ukraine

Kyiv:Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held a phone conversation on Monday to discuss Ukraine's energy grid preparations for the upcoming winter, along with other critical issues.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Poland for its support during these challenging times, especially given the ongoing conflict with Russia. He emphasized the importance of Poland's assistance as Russia continues to escalate tensions rather than seek peace.

During the conversation, Zelenskyy informed Tusk about potential trilateral technical-level meetings involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia. He noted that while Ukraine is ready for such discussions, it is crucial for the US to prepare adequately and ensure Russia's willingness to engage.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that not all matters could be discussed over the phone, and both leaders agreed to meet in person soon. In the face of warnings for diplomats to leave Kyiv, Poland, along with other European nations, has committed to maintaining its diplomatic presence. The Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed on social media that there are no plans to alter the operations of its embassy in Kyiv.
