Istanbul:Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, closed on Wednesday at 12,122.94 points, marking a decline of 2.03% from the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index began trading on the third transaction day of the week at 12,389.72 points, eventually falling by 251.32 points from Tuesday's close. The BIST 100 index recorded a low of 12,048.47 points and a high of 12,389.72 points throughout the day.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was approximately 11.89 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $242.36 billion, with a daily trading volume reaching 113.5 billion Turkish liras, or about $2.3 billion. Out of the stocks on the index, 75 experienced a drop in value while 23 saw an increase compared to the previous close.

Additionally, the price of an ounce of gold was reported at $4,107.65, and Brent crude oil futures were trading around $101.14 per barrel by 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT). The exchange rates for the US dollar, euro, and British pound against the Turkish lira were 49.1970, 55.0840, and 65.0365, respectively.
